Here I Stand

Welcome Index

Since my conversion to Christ as a teenager, I have been discipled with a firm commitment to the whole Bible as the inspired, inerrant, written Word of God, the only infallible rule of Christian faith and practice.

I seek to practise and model before God's people a lifestyle of biblical piety and holiness, separated to Christ from the world, and to the Word of Christ from fundamental error and false emphases.

In theology, I am committed by my ordination vows to the Apostles', Nicene and Athanasian Creeds; to the Second London Confession of Faith 1689, and to the Keach's Catechism. I gladly hold the teaching of the Heidelberg Catechism, excepting only Question 74 on infant baptism.

In ministry, I have devoted my energies to the pulpit, emphasizing exposition of Holy Scripture by book, teaching Christian doctrine by catechism sermons, fostering Christian devotion by text preaching, and knowledge by Bible lectures. I have also given myself as far as I can to gospel outreach, pastoral care, and practical administration.

In fellowship, while having clear-cut views of doctrine and practice, I endeavour to cherish a truly 'catholic' spirit to all evangelical Protestants who know Christ Jesus by experience of the new birth and conversion. Where I may preach God's Word without compromise of saving fundamentals, I feel at liberty to preach, not disputing differences on church government, sacraments, or eschatology. Others I regard as neighbours, but not brothers.
